Shino cup with a folded area on the midsection. The outside is a grey and light orange speckled surface; the inside is a soft orange with a square choke halfway to the top. The folded technique was originally developed by George Ohr, and has been difficult to replicate since he did so in the 1800s. Nicol aspired to the challenge of Ohr's technique, and has unlocked many of the secrets lost to time. The playful nature of the making of pieces like these is a bond across time between two potters.
All wares are signed on the base, and include the signature rose pattern.
